|Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument

32 pages.Pocket Portfolio
Part of the Wish You Were Here Pocket Portfolio Series, this books discusses the day of the eruption at Mount St. Helens and the effects that are still present today. With beautiful landscape photos and descriptive text, there is much to be learned from this series.
Ghostly reminders of what once existed here are found all around Mount St. Helens. Trees that were far enough from the blast were left standing, but were killed nonetheless by the heat of the eruption. From the rim of the crater, hikers are often able to view other Cascade peaks- Mount Adams, Rainer, and Hood- which float like memories above the jagged crater walls of today’s Mount St. Helens.
