Photographs can only partially capture their true nature. They reveal their colors, depth, and form; and they can reveal the nature of the artist’s relationship with the canyon. But, photographs can only go so far. To truly understand a slot canyon, it needs to be experienced in person, its essence distilled from the dusty air and reflected light, from its deep caverns and narrow, curvy passages.”
